How to Install a Windshield Banner on Your Car

Putting on your new windshield banner is easier than you think! If you're new to this, we highly suggest getting a professional to help. Please note that we can't offer refunds or replacements for banners that aren't installed correctly or are misused.

Key Tips Before You Start

  • Keep it Dry: Avoid getting your banner wet for at least 48 hours after installation. This lets the glue stick!

  • Wipers Off: Don't use your wiper blades on the banner until it's fully dry and stuck down.

  • Right Temperature: This is super important! Install your banner only when it's between 10°C (50°F) and 25°C (77°F).

    • Too Cold: The banner might get stiff and peel off.

    • Too Hot: It can stretch too much and tear easily.

  • Oil Slick Banners: If your banner is oil slick material, you must install it dry. All other colors can use the wet method below.

  • Find Shade: Always install your banner on a cool windshield in the shade. Avoid direct sun, strong wind, or bad weather.

Get Your Windshield Ready

A clean windshield helps your banner stick perfectly!

  • Clean it Well: Remove all dirt, dust, and grime.

  • Rubbing Alcohol: Use rubbing alcohol and a clean cloth to wipe down the glass. This removes wax or coatings.

  • No Glass Cleaner: Do NOT use regular glass cleaners. They leave a film that can make your banner bubble later.

How to Install (Wet Method)

It's easier with a friend!

  1. Clean Your Window: Use rubbing alcohol to clean your windshield.

  2. Peel the Back: Lay the banner face down. Carefully peel off the white backing paper.

  3. Spray the Banner: Lightly spray the sticky side of the banner with a mixture of water and a small amount of baby shampoo. Don't get the paper backing wet!

  4. Spray the Windshield: Spray your windshield generously with the same water mix. This lets you move the banner around.

  5. Place It: Put the banner on the wet windshield and slide it into the perfect spot.

  6. Squeegee Out Water: Use a squeegee to push all the water bubbles out from under the banner, starting from the middle and working out.

  7. Trim Edges: Carefully use a razor to trim any excess vinyl around the edges of your windshield.

  8. Let it Dry: Allow the banner to dry for 48 hours before it gets wet or hot, or before using your wipers.

Important Notes

  • Cut Out Banners: If your banner has cut-out sections, leave the clear masking tape on for a few hours. When you peel it off slowly, if the banner starts to lift, stop and let it dry for a longer period until it no longer lifts. You can also wet the tape to help it come off easier.

  • Tiny Bubbles: Small water bubbles might be visible for up to a week. They'll disappear on their own.

  • Lifting Edges: If an edge lifts, a tiny dab of super glue with a toothpick can fix it.
